The following scenario has been giving me a lots of headaches, any tips, ideas, suggestions, links,.... are greatly appreciated! 🙂
PHP/mySQl environment.
It's a shopping cart/shipping issue:
We need to have different Shipping price, depending on total Order Weight AND the destination country.
For example:
Order# 123 contains products A,B. Total order weight is 10000 grams.
If sent to Belgium, shipping is $27.00
If sent to South Africa, shipping is $67.00
How can I achieve this?
The shopping cart is already up and running.
I can calculate Total Order weight no problem.
All countries are in a table.
All products are in a table, each with weight.
One major problem is determinig which WeightClasses a weight belongs to!
Because the WeightClasses are in range.
Like this:
1 more than 0 -500 gr
2 501-1000 gr
3 1001-1500 gr
4 1501-2000 gr
Right now, I'm determing this manually 🙁, by using whole bunch of if/else statements.
The WeightClasses are in a table.
I also have a CategorizedPrices table, which holds the weight class, countrygroup, price.
I know this is a lot of information!
If you want I can explain more.......
