age and jobs

Just curious: how old are you and what do you do for a living? I can't remember if the age one was asked a few months ago, if not, i'm still curious to hear what kinds of jobs you have.

I'm 18 and do sales & web development.

While that remains to be seen, I'll brave those waters and tell mine- 31 going on about 23, and I'm a Web Developer/E-Commerce Professional/Graphic Designer/Marketing Manager/Product Merchandiser and at times Receptionist/Copy Person/Chauffer 🙂
We have a very small company and I wear many hats 🙂

Well let's see- I tested out of calculus (and english) in college and graduated when I was 20 with a degree in Organizational Behavior with a minor in Information Sciences.
After college, I worked in Marketing for a healthcare consulting company and set up their database system, while maintaining my sales and marketing duties and traveling across the us and canada doing trade shows.
I then went to work for my current company in 1996, setting up their website and e-commerce store, becoming a CIW, and jumping into PHP with both feet because I love it... while maintaining my "other duties as assigned".
I love programming, but I certainly enjoy a diverse job description and thrive on wearing many hats 🙂.. and if answering my own phone because there are only 4 of us here makes me a secretary, then so be it. 😃
I'll answer your phone, too if you pay me enough 🙂

I'm almost 29 and am a Application Developer doing mostly PHP with some C#/.NET sprinkled in. All that with a B.S. in Biology 🙂

and dale, I disagree... I think that the internet has done much more to kill any 'gr4m471kal sk1llz' that the average person had... not to mention all the shorthand we use... I find myself misspelling words all the time since I haven't had a need to spell them correctly in so long.

That was simply the definitive test, as a secretary she could not stand the fact that I made a grammar mistake and just had to point it out.

Much respect to the ladies who program, you are a rare breed.

My only complaint with you is that 5 year old .sig, we grew out of 640 Kb back when? 1 mb chips were the big ones that could be purchased for a mere $120. Yes, about 8 years ago I would estimate.

And ' dalecosp ' appears to desire some one on one time, he is awful flirtatious. Since you could not seem to notice that on your own.

No worries, Pyrox! 🙂 I think I'm a little hypersensitive to the issue simply because I joke around a lot, especially about my "blonde-ness"... and because of that, at times people don't take me seriously. My own fault, I know. My therapist says I'm making real progress, though. 😃

And I'm glad you were just kidding because I'd really hate to have to drive out to Iowa and kick some reaper booty 😃

As for the .sig change, I think that was kind of the point of the quote... the irony that Bill Gates could only foresee the future of computing to a point... and I'm sure he was glad he was wrong. I'd be happy to change the .sig though if you have another idea.

Oh and as for dalecosp- he is quite happily married, as am I... he just likes to give me a hard time.

hmmm... rolleyes... that looks more like 'innocently look up' to me...

as for my memory needs... I bought this baby back when the Intel® Desktop Board D850GB was the only P4 motherboard available in this backwords country... why oh why was RDRAM ever invented?!?!? costs a fortune....🙁
