File Transfer Progress Window

I want to be able to transfer mySQL database files from a desktop computer after they have been updated, through a dial-up modem, onto an external server.
Is there a tutorial or sample code to anable this to be done?
Also, is it possible to have a window onscreen with one of those progressive lines showing the progress of the file transfer? (I have seen one in Javascript I think)

how i would do this is setup something like phpmyadmin, export to structure and data of your db to a textfile, then setup phpmyadmin on your other server, then dump the textfile into that database.

As far as the progress loader, it probably was javascript. I'm not sure how to do it, but have a look around www.javascripts.com. You should find something useful.

I thought I should be able to place all the mySQL query instructions, specific access and logins, directly into a php web page on the Intranet web site.
With absolute URL's and the access logins I can then send the files across similar to FTP.
Of course I will have to establish the exact access permissions at the external server end.
Only looking at moving four database tables (8 files).
Certainly have no security problems from the Intranet end since only administrator and database manager have access.

Of course I can achieve end result by using FTP client to transfer files into sub-directories on the external web site. Okay for me as webmaster but don't want just anybody to have total FTP access.

just set up phpmyadmin temporarily, create the text file, dump into the other server, then get rid of phpmyadmin. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the FTP and transferring files. I thought the question was about moving structure and data from one mysql server to another? If you need to also move the actual site with all it's files, then yeah, you'd use FTP.

Current database files used on the Intranet would be updated as required possibly on a daily basis. I want to transfer the same files out onto the Internet server where the web site is.
eg: products, prices and online user access permissions can be transferred.
I could do this by sending the files by FTP onto the external server but would prefer the admin staff to be able to update databases direct from the Intranet wbe pages.
