Sessions (or lack of them)

im using php 4.3.0...Apache 2.0.....Windows 2000.
i am testing sessions on test pages before i start to develop them properly,,
this is my problem, i start a session on page A, which has a link to page B. On both pages i have a echo session_id() function, The session ids displayed on the two pages are different, should they be the same?wot should i change if so?

Hmm..
Depending on how you start/end your sessions: do you propagate the session through the url?
Like:
<a href="page2.php?PHPSESSID=<?PHP echo $PHPSESSID; ?>">Page 2</a>

If your browser doesn't support cookies, that's the only way to send the session-id between pages *
Most likely, a new session is started on page 2.

*If you didn't install the enable -- trans-sid

thanks for replying,

im trying not to use cookies, so i have to send the session id in the url?,, i thought by just using session_start() on the new page it would pick up the session id,,,am i wrong. misguided?
