Please dont boot me off for posting this little job here, I'm not quite sure where to find a forum to post projects so here goes.
Ok here is a nice easy scripting job for one of you experts out there. I'm prepared to pay a modest fee and also possibly go into partnership with the script guru to market the finished product. I’ve seen plenty of scripts out there that do exactly what I want
But not all in the same little package.
Ok this is what I need:
Membership Management/ User Authentication for a Members only site.
My site member’s area contains audio files which must be in protected folders, i.e., only fully paid members get in and get to download the audio files. I know that htaccess works for this.
The signup script is where this all begins. After I have received payment from the customer they are forwarded to the signup script. They get to choose a username but the password is generated randomly by the script. They are forced to enter a genuine email address in order to pickup the random password. This could be one of those
“Validate your account by clicking on this link” type of scripts.
All of the info the customer inputs gets added to a MySQL DB. For now all we need
Them to enter is:
Username
Email address
Once the customer has clicked on the link which validates their account they can log in to the members area with their username and randomly generated password.
I would also need a “forgot your password?” script because most people won’t be able to remember the password that they’ve been given.
Once the new member has logged into the members area they are able to download
The protected audio files.
Membership Management
As the site owner I will need to access the DB of members so that I can de-activate or delete members and also search for contact details such as email address. Member’s accounts will only last for a set period of time, this needs to be changeable as my needs change. For example membership would last 3 months and then they would no longer be able to get in. If I decided to start selling longer memberships then it should be an easy thing to change the number of days a membership lasts.
A basic search function needs to be included in the members admin side of things so that I can search by username or email address to find the relevant member.
Add ons
It would be nice to have scripts designed in such a way that we could add new functions such as IP address logging of all members, IP address blocking for suspected fraudsters.
I would also like to use “sessions” in some way so that the member is welcomed each time they log in, you know “Welcome back to the members area : member”. I would also like to display how many members are logged in like most PHP portal sites do.
That’s it in a nutshell, I would appreciate sensible quotes and any ideas you might have on how to improve what I’ve already suggested.
After this I also have 2 other MySQL and PHP projects which will need slightly more development.
