Migrate PHP & MySQL from Windows to Linux

Dear,

I am totally new to PHP, MySQL, Apache and Lunux, but I am going to build a web site with PHP and MySQL. Since I am more familiar with Windows, I would like to build the HTML, PHP and MySQL under windows enviroment (using Dreamweaver).

My questions are,
1) How much extra effort is needed when build it in Windows instead of in Linux?

2) Will it be very difficult when I migrate the codes and database from Windows to Linux? Any reference guide in the web for this?
3) Any points that I need to consider before I do it in this way?
4) Any suggestions?

you should think what you are doing, you can write the code with dreamweaver or whatever on your win box, simply set up php/mysql on the nix box and ftp the code to the linux box, simple as that, then you won't worry about migrating, however, you probably wouldn't have to worry about migrating anyway, other than some small oddities, like mail() function, or maybe file paths if you are uploading and such, but other than that php is platform independent

One of the main functions in my web will be the email module, so does it mean that I should build this module only when the codes are transferred to Linux?

yes i would code it to work with linux, don't get it working on your win box and expect it to work on the nix box, mail(), like i said is one of the few oddities that doesn't play nice all the time from platform to platform
