Mail() issue

Hi,
I am a super newbie, but I think this test mail script should be working.

$to="heyniwe@earthlink.net";
$subject="test rmf";
$body="blah, blah, blah";
$from="nick@hey2hey.com";
mail($to, $subject, $body, $from);
?>

I think the problem may be some of the php.ini settings, but I cannot not even find that file to modify it. Is their a default location or can it be anywhere on the server?

I'm probably just as a newbie as you but i think i might now the problem. this is just a guess but shouldnt you have a button to send the mail? im not sure it could be your php settings. ill try it on my apache server for ya.

i tried it on my apache server and you get this....

"Warning: Failed to Connect in c:\apache\htdocs\forum\mail.php on line 6"

i mite try to fix it for ya later if i can but right now im kinda busy...and i havent used the mail function yet...good luck...some1 else should prob kno

Configuration File (php.ini) Path: /usr/lib

the php.ini should be in there according to your phpinfo page, other than that try using this script to mail, others have used it and it seems to work for them just fine
