I have an application running under PHP 4.2.2 with MySQL 3.23.39 and users are having problems uploading large files.
After an attempt, everyone gets access errors when trying to connect to the db. The db connections uses ADOdb and I've tried changing the Pconnect to Connect but it hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?

Well are you trying to upload the file into the database or just the address to the file.

You may wanna create some error messages to make sure or check your error log file for a more accurate answer to this.

It may also be that your limit of the upload file is less than you expect. You may need to have a look

It looks like we may have been using a bad user name. I don't understand why it used to be good but now it is bad. We can upload small (under 2M😎 files now. Links to resources are always a big help to me because I can learn solutions before the problems occur instead of after. Thanks.

there is a variable in php.ini called upload_max_filesize. This by default is set to 2M. You will need to set it to a higher amount in order to upload larger files.
