Making a shoutbox

Now, I know close to nothing about PHP but I did notice that among the scripts you could download at www.hotscripts.com there were a lot of PHP scripts. I want a shoutbox on my homepage and I am currently using dreamweaver to make it. Now how do I put one in to state the question as simple as possible..
