Picture will not upload...please help

Hi there,

I have created a little module for my website where I can add information including a picture (and it gets stored in a mysql database).

I also created a page that draws on this database and shows the information.

The problem is when I view the information it doesn show the picture, and when i checked the ftp the picture didn't upload. Which is weird I didn't get an error or anything when I added the info.

I have included the 3 files for someone to take a look at, before I flip out... 🙂

project1.php........................fill the information u want added

add_project.php..................does the actual adding of the content to the database

commercial_projects.php................suppose to view it

if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it....

just looking at project1.php, your problem (atleast one of them, there may be more in the other scripts) is this line:

<form method="post" action="add_project.php">

add_project.php isn't expecting to receive a file. Should be

<form ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" action="add_project.php" method="POST">

what's on line 49 of add_project.php? could you post more of your code?

do you have a folder projectpics? is it chmod'd to 777? You may try using copy() rather of move_uploaded_file() if you do have that directory with proper permissions.

yeah i do have the folder there "projectpics" and the permissions are set to 777.

it is extremely weird that its not working....if i didn't try to upload a picture and just the try to add text it works fine. I'm wondering now does it have something to do with the database itself.

I'll double-check the database again....???

it shouldn't have anything to do with the database. I did once in the past have a problem with either using copy() or move_uploaded_file(). I got errors with one, but when i used the other function, it worked just fine. I think it has to do with your server, but i'd try the copy() function.

thanks cgraz....I really appreciate the help. I'm goin go ahead and try the copy function and see if it works. I'll keep you informed....
