Newbie with DATE confusion!

I've got this DATE field set up in a table..called enddate, and I want all the records for which the enddate has not expired as yet....

so I use my query as this "Select * from registered where 'enddate' >= NOW()";

Now I have dates of 2003-02-21, 2003-02-28, 2003-03-21 according to my query only the record with the last date should be returned however all are coming back !!!!

Have I done this query correctly ??? And waht format is the NOW() field ? timestamp? date? datetime ????

you need to remove the 'quotes' from enddate -

SELECT * FROM registered WHERE enddate >= NOW()
