A puzzle for me

I am just developping code on a site which was built by using php & mysql. But there is a thing puzzled me. We don't have a folder which is called "test" under the site's DocumentRoot. But the url "http://www.****.org/test/ is still working. I couldn't find out what is going on there? Is there someone can help me out?

Maybe there is an alias set on your server, like if you go to the address you showed us, then it doesn't look in a folder called test, but somewhere else. Don't know what else that could be going on... =/

well, I thought about this and I checked some places such as httpd.conf. But there is no alias for it. And there is no .htaccess for this site. Do you think it is possible that php has this kind of function? But I doubt it...

Make sure there isnt a file named "test" (with no extension). I have a file on my site called articles so it appears as though it is a folder in the browser but it is actually a php file.

I checked there is no any file called test.

could be a 404 error page, too ...
kind of: if apache doesn't find a page to display, it redirects to an error page, perhaps a customized one ... which could be virtually every site in the web, too.

just check if [url]http://...../blablabla28934790[/url] leads to the same page.

just an idea ...
