Cron Execution/Spidering

Questions for you experts out there.

I've got some php scripts I want to setup to run under Cron. What's the best means for preventing search engine spiders from accessing this scripts? Should I place them into a secure directory? Will Cron be able to access them there? Should I include the no follow meta-tag in each script (<meta name="ROBOTS" content="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW">)? Thank you in advance for any help.

Store them outside of the web root directory.

For instance, if your HTML files sit in /home/j8h9x/public_html, store your cron scripts in /home/j8h9x/phpcronfiles. Spiders won't know they exist.
