external include + regex ?

I'm trying to get something included into a page. It's essentially a newsfeed, without rss/rdf/xml etc. I'm trying to get the vast majority of what is returned stripped, as all I'm really interested in are a set of links. The links are unique on the page to an extent in that they are the only links on the page that contain the following prior to the link itself:

onMouseOver="window.status='http://linkishere.com'

I suck at regexp's and am not sure if that is what I really need to use anyway. Anyone have some advice? Examples? Would there be a way to strip EVERYTHING returned from the page except what is included in those single quotes after the window.status?
