Visible source code when http://file without extension

Why is the source code visible when I call the file in the browser without extension (php)?

It's because the webserver doesn't know that the code should be sent to the php-parser, and treats it as html (or even text).

If you need to have a special filetype to be treated as php, you might add it to the config of your webserver.

I have addeded the filetype to the web-server and if I call the file with ext .php it work. But it is also possible to call the file without extension and then you can see the php-sourcecode!

That sounds like a problem with your server, to me. If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that "test.php" can be viewed if you go to "test"?

Reinstall, and you might want to try with non-php files. If it works for everything, inform the creator of the server.

yeah i think you have something weird going on there, any server i have used, if you call test instead of test.php, it will still run it as test.php, normally
