How would YOU do it...?

I have given up on my points gateway script. But, that doesn't stop me from needing one.

Before you say OMG! He is soooooo spamming... you're kinda right, but also kinda wrong.

How would you and COULD you write a script that only lets a user in if they have more than or equal to X number of points. ALSO, a login script that logs the person in... (red bit = optional)

The MySQL table they are in is user_id. "password" , "username" and "user_points" are the feild names.

The login data is posted by a form where the boxes are ALSO called "username" and "password".

This is a challenge. I will put a script copyright on the winners' script.

May I say the following;

1.)The PHPBB2 passwords are encrypted.
2.)What does the script do if it returns the correct information?
3.)Other than adding the MySQL passwords, changing the database name, are there any other alterations I would need to do?
