fastTemplate Error (PHP 4.3.1)

I*m using php 4.3.1 with fastTemplate, but I have this Error

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare clear_parse() in c:\programme\apache group\apache\htdocs\test\class.FastTemplate.php on line 636

can anyone halp me???

I had exaclty the same error. The way to get your site working again, is to go the the line identlifed by the errror, and delete it the whole function that starts at this point.

When you do this then the FastTemplate system will work again.

I have had to do this on a number of sites, and now they all work. The redeclared function is not used, the comment associated with the function clear_parse() (the second occurance of it) tells you why.

I LOVE it when I search a board, someone had exactly the same problem, and the question is already answered. I put in this fix and POOF my site is all fixed🙂 I guess the bigger question is why is the old version still working over on the other server!! because they use php4 as well...

You need to install GD Graphics Library (a program that handles generation of JPG and PNG files) to get the CMS to work correctly.. Goto http://www.boutell.com/gd/.. I researched the error which was misleading in that it was indicating a PERL command set but the installation of GD on my server along with a simple proceedure to intigrate it with PHP 4.x did the trick.. the CMS works now.. BTW - it kind of sucks anyhow.. PHPNuke is so much cooler. But if you like simplicity, this is the one. BTW - dont know if your host provider will support GD.. that is a problem with this CMS - non-standard constraints.

a whole year and a half later, this same old problem surfaced again. I couldn't remember the answer, I searched google and poof, ah yes there it is. and it worked just as well this time. 7 minutes.
