Form Input File field

Hello folks!

I'm trying to make file input field to display mySQL data, but it just won't obey :-). Is this what I'm trying possible or not?

It's somehow a strange idea to display something in a file-input-field =] because they have kind of a "input-only" behavior...

WHAT exactly do you wanna display there?

I want it to display a location of a file that's already stored in a database before user chooses new one clicking the "choose" button.

i see... ok, i had that problem before. afaik it's not possible to output something within a file input field. it's more a HTML problem i guess..

i think you have to find another solution... i.e. displaying the path of the stored file as normal text above the input field or displaying a delete button if a file is stored and if it's not, the input field again.

this is a security feature, suppose someone had a website you visited, and the autofilled c:\winnnt\someimportantfile, then autosubmitted the form, you would then have any file on their computer as long as you had the correct file path, and it isn't hard to figure out normal file paths on installations, so it is not an html problem, nor is it that you aren't sure how to do it, it was designed that way
