Installing PHP and IIS

Ok i am running windows xp with all the updates.
I then installed IIS 5.1
Then I installed the latest PHP
The prob is i can not view PHP pages and when i go to IIS control panel and look under...local computer\websites..the is a symbol for error and says default web site(stopped)
On trying to start this i get...unexpected error 0x8ffe2740

Any ideas! Thanks in advance.

i've never had any luck with php/iis on a win32 machine, i would suggest using apache for win32 instead

Let me guess you used the php installer instead of the zip? Try unistalling the windows installer crap and using the zip. Follow the instructions in the install.txt to setup IIS to work with PHP (they are very straight forward) this works I used it on a server at work with PHP 4.3.0. My suggest to everyone, never use the installer or the all in one installer (webserver-php-db), they limit what you can do and make reconfiguration/upgrading a pain in the ass.

I think your right as now IIS works or seems to. Seems it was a port conflict. Now i get....
FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!....
when i try to browse a page which i take as a problem with php, so i'll try your advice.

This is just an issue of you need to set register_globals=on in your php.ini, not suggested but if your scripts require it it's doable.
