Host on own computer

If I wanted to completely host sites(domains) on my own computer with Linux, what should I do? I want to host my DNS Servers and Apache, since BIND and Apache are both built into RedHat Linux. My question is, what are the steps to hosting? I know i need a domain, but what else do I need? I have a static ip... My main concern was about the DNS Servers. What do I do? Do I need 2 IPs for primary and secondary DNS? I see that whenever I change a host they tell me to change my namneservers to like: ns1.blah.com
Do i need another domain name or something just for DNS Server? What do I do? lol Thanks in advanced for any kind of help.

Well I think http://www.no-ip.com is ideal for you since you are using static ip.(They offer dynamic dns services) There you will get a subdomain, say dragon.no-ip.com . And their server will automatically parse this url and redirect the visitor to the static ip address you set.

so what happens if say, id want a real domain, what should i do then? I am currently running Mnadrake Linux 9.0 with apache, mysql, ftp, and bind, and Posrfix, i cant get postfix to work nor ftp, or bind, but BIND is not important since i can always use someone elses DNS
