IIS v5.1 SMTP server

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for roy@roomsinny.com in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\home\hotel\reserve.php on line 25

I'm using IIS v5.1... is there anything I have to configure in order to get the SMTP server working? or do I have to change one of the values in php.ini?

also, while we're on the subject of IIS... does anybody know what happened to the ftp server?

IIS doesn't have an smtp server. IIS is an http server (albeit a sorry one). You will need to look for a windows based smtp server or just get a *nix box.

but it says right here in the IIS manager "Default SMTP Virtual Server"... and there's a mailroot folder, too...

so anybody know a good free smtp server for windows?

I'd love to tell you mate, but it aint working again and no matter what I do I can't get it to work again....

You have to install FTP services from disk. Add programs - etc. SMTP services are normally installed by default. Make sure they are running on port 25 (default) and the SMTP service is started

I actually got it working. Maybe my problem was different after all.
In the php.ini under [mail function] I used to have
SMTP = localhost;
and now changed it to
SMTP = mailserver.myisp.com;
