PHP Installation problem

I'm using Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the PHP interpeter from PHP.NET. It installed OK, but when I execute a PHP script nothing happens. Nothing meaning for example, when I want it to do something as simple as printing on the screen nothing happens. I receive no errors either. The page would be blank.

Can anyone help me with this on? I installed IIS5 on my system.

Anyway, have you setup IIS to parse PHP files?

It should do automatically.... I have the same setup and didn't need to change anything...

try reinstalling PHP...

what exactly did you do in order to test it?

actually.... try adding index.php to the list of automatically loaded pages and move it to the top of the list... go to Administration Tools->Internet Services Manager

click on the plus by your server's name
right click http server -> properties
then hit the Documents tab

the list should be there

Well, but what if you download the zip package instead of the MS installer package? Then you have to setup the web server yourself. And the OP didn't say which package was downloaded...

does IIS work, tho? do you have a working default.asp?

and what about the command line interpreter? can you write php scripts for dos?
