Mac OS X Apache

I've been away awhile doing Python, but now I'm ready for PHP.

I have Apache on Mac OS X. How do I configure it to work with PHP, or do I have to configure it at all?

You might check with someone on a FreeBSD or Darwin list, as these are the basis for that OS. I'd be curious to know whether you could just run the source code from apache.org, or the FreeBSD port, but I have no idea myself, as I have only one Mac and it's a 6116 Performa...needless to say, doesn't get much use, of course, part of that is just me....

Umm... PHP is already installed on Mac OSX along with Apache and many other goodies. A great resource is http://www.macdevcenter.com/

I think you need play with the httpd.conf file or something to get PHP working, but it is pretty straightforward. Just do a search there and you should be golden.

What version is PHP installed? Do you mind telling me where?

I can just start typing PHP now that I have both and it will work right? Since I think Apple probably already got apache to work with PHP.

I have a Windows/Unix PHP book that says I have to configure Apache to work until PHP will work.

did you even bother to actually check the site I recomended - there are SEVERAL explanatory pages there on how to make it work. Check it out - it is great.
