imagettftext & umlauts

Hi.

I use imagettftext and it works great, but:
Every umlaut (ä,ö,ü) is replaced by a box.
Do you know this problem or have any
suggestions?

you have to specify the encoding...

I use Macromedia's Fontographer to enconde fonts.
It has the following options for encoding:

• Adobe Standard
• Adobe Expert (can't be the right one)
• Macintosh Expert
• ISO Latin 1
• Macintosh
• Windows 3.1
• Windows 95
• OS/2 UGL
• Unicode Glyph List
• OEM Encoding

Witch one is the right one? The whole thing is running
on a Linux Server machine and using the latest gd.

try windows 95... but I think you're going the wrong way with this. I don't know if browsers automatically detect and use the encoding specified by headers, but if they don't you have to manually set the encoding by (in IE) View->Encoding->Western European (Windows)

that showed the umlauts for me... but with my default encoding (Hebrew) I see tzadik, heh, and a square....

I think the encoding of the html document isn't the problem, because it's the gd that causes the problem.

I found out that the umlauts are displayed, when they are at the end of the written text. For example:

picture.php?text=üffü

In this case only the last ü is shown. The other one is replaced by a box. Anyone has an idea how I can use this?
