API COM question

Hi all,

I'm running php 4.2.2 that comes with RH 8.0.
I have my database running on my Linux server.
Now, let's say a lot of my clients have Windows plarform machine.
They want to see the report on their Excel program.
Is this possible? I know PHP has COM API but it only support for PHP Windows version only. Anyone has clue how to solve this?

you want to take your data and show it on the users systems (windows) via web, right?

you would need to have the users download the file to open in their excel (as csv text file)

create some kind of COM object that the user downloads first and then opens the file correctly...

Could you show me with some codes of how to do this please?
Because I don't know how to call COM or create COM object from Linux environment.

I'd just go with the csv nethod...it's much simpler than creating a COM control...
