My degree was in music, not computers. Don't know what that'll do for your problem, though LOL.
thanks for the tip on posting phpinfo(), out of curiosity, what are the security risks? I really don't see anything that gives out dangorous infomation.
Being paranoid is paramount in security. It's not dangerous for you, nor probably for me, 'cuz we're not ubercrackers. However, I see your computer name, your docroot and the name of some of the folders therein, your OS, the type of webserver you're running, your LAN IP, who you are logged in as (I think), that you've installed imagemagick, that you run the MS-SQL server, the names of your temp folders (in short, everything's pretty default.) If you really want to know if there's much harm in it, I'll send a copy of the output to my brother the NT sysadmin for one of the larger cities in my state 😉 Besides, the handbook cautions against leaving it laying around (or was it some other tome I read...?)
I'll check out bugs page and see if I can find any info. nothing shows up out of the ordinary in task manager, although php.exe shows up 5-6 times, is this normal?
I dunno for sure, but my gut feeling is no. What kind of status messages do they show?
Now there was at least one useful thing I get from your phpinfo. The CGI is hanging, it says. Now, that's what needs to be fixed, of course; the question is, though, WHY is it hanging?
This also brings up another point that plays to Stolzyboy's hand: the PHP developers contend that PHP is generally much safer as a SAPI module rather than as a CGI.
I originaly installed php using the installer, but read many posts about using the zip instead, If i can't fix this, I guess I'll uninstall php and reinstall using the zip.. do I have to uninstall and reinstall mySql as well when I do this?
I don't know for sure; PHP has to have specific options enabled to support some libraries, but I'm pretty sure that MySQL support is quite native. Backup the db first in case I'm wrong, eh?
