countind ip traffic

i have several ppl using my connection. what i would like to do is count the number of Mbytes each one of them use up each month. but the tricky part is, that i'd like the number to be stored in a MySQL database and that a php file would show this info:

DATE: 2003.03 (this month)

IP: 111.111.1.1(Tom's IP) 🙂

OVERALL SENT: xxx MB
OVERALL RECEIVED: xxx MB

OVERALL SENT @ DAY(9AM-9PM): xx MB
OVERALL SENT @ NIGHT(9PMM-9AM): xx MB

OVERALL RECEIVED @ DAY(9AM-9PM): xx MB
OVERALL RECEIVED @ NIGHT(9PMM-9AM): xx MB

we actually need this to know how much Mbytes each one of us uses up, because we have to pay our ISP for the Mbytes used... 🙁

is it possible to do such a thing? and could someone please give me some hints on how to do so. or maybe there's some stuff like this on the i-net and you know where i could find it?

If you are using a *nix box read up on iptables. You should be able to keep track of transfers, control amount of bandwidth allowed per machine and many other fun things.
