Problem with PHP scripts

Hello. I'm having a problem using php. I installed it from the PHP.net website. However, when I create a php file either using Dreamweaver or notepad, the system is recognizing the extention .php as a Microsoft Picture It! file. Although, I used the 'Open with' option, the system still insists that these files are Picture it! files. Also when Ido run the script, nothing happens. For example, if I want to simply print somthing on the screen using the PHP pring command, nothing happens. It would just be a blank page. No error messages appear either.

I'm currently using Windows XP Pro. IIS 5. Can anyone help me on this one?

As long as the file ends in .php, when you up-load it the internet will know what to do. As for your computer end, I would've said "Open with", but you said you've already tried it. 🙂
For the print stuff, you will have to provide more info on that, perhaps all the code or something.

Run this script, see what output you get: <? phpinfo() ?>

Also, try this: start->run->regedit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT->.php,.php4,.php3 (whichever you have, it's not all listed as one)
Erase that entry, and then try using the "Open With..." again.
To erase it, right click on the FOLDER and go to "Delete."

Most likely, it says something like "PictureIt.File", and for some reason is stuck on that.

From an explorer window, Tools > folder options > file types. You should be able to set it from there.
