[Resolved] Best authentication system ?

Hi all!
Could anyone suggest me the best freeware PHP script for authentication ?

I am building a public web site using PHP-Apache-MySQL under Linux RedHat 8.0 and I must protect most of its pages.

If its possible I would need a system that will enable visitors to get their membership, change and/or get lost password and make sure that none of them could "build" the URL to access protected pages. If they choose not to become members they should see some content; if they do, they should see the protected content.

If you only need to protect the pages, and not the other files in the directory (images, etc), check out HTTP Authentication.

If you want to protect certain parts of pages and not others, plus protect images etc. I should go to PHP.NET and read up the skills needed to make your own, m8 🙂

I'm currently into pwz_auth but it was written by some French guy(s) I think, so even though much of the documentation is also in English, some of it is not. They gave me credit for a bug fix I sent them, so they're on my recommendations list 🙂

(Insert Pro-War, French-bashing humor here. Despite political differences I don't mind using a Frenchman's software...)
