A friend of mine said he could get me a job (yes, I'm dole scum, one of "Pauline's People") at the finance company he works for if I had some way of getting the Excel data that they use onto the web. Basically they'll choose a set of tables, some financial formula will be done on them, and then the result has to be dumped back to them as an Excel file.
Do you think using PhP will be a good solution. I started learning it last week, using it with Access (which the foool told me the stuff was in) and absolutely love it so would like to stick with it, but ideally am I better off choosing a different language?
Ok - I'm off to learn COM until somebody tells me I'm wasting my time. I did all the Access stuff with ODBC, but from what I've been catching out of the corner of my eye in other threads people seem to say it's a better path. Is this also true?
Help me Obi-Wan!!
