This thread is a test. You might want to ignore it, unless you're interested in my tests.

Motivation: I find it annoying that some threads get too wide and don't fit on the screen horizontally. I'm pretty sure it's because of the way [ CODE ] and [ PHP ] tags work.

Since this particular post doesn't contain those, everything was wrapping fine, UNTIL ....

See what I mean? That's annoying. I think even [ CODE ] blocks should wrap .

That's because vbulletin uses <hr> for code, php, and quotes rather than divs.

Actually I believe it's the <pre> not the <hr> that causes the no wrapping. Was wondering if there was anyway to make some change to vbulletin's config to fix, but I guess not. Oh well!

Oh, I see what you're saying with the <hr>'s. Ya, the <hr> tags give the quotes a minimum width, but the lines within the <pre> tags can be even wider than the <hr>'s are.

Actually, the no break effect this has is quite hard to get around. The code, php and quote tags really have to be free from unnecessary linebreaks to keep the formatting. This is of course a problem, and there might be a solution such as providiing a link to the information stored in between these tags, but I'd that's a bad idea... 🙂 Any suggestions on how to fix this? A good start is of course limiting the size of the <hr>s, but that wouldn't solve the problem 100%.. 🙁

Then at least we wouldn't have to scroll to the right to read
