i want to do a search function for my own website. i put all the website information into database (mysql). i also finished writing the search function. the problem now is, i want to put like this:
keyword=introduction

result shown:
1.http://www.xxxx.com/introduction.php
Description:......this is our...Introduction.....aasdf djadf

i want my result shown as the same format as google. is it possible to do so? thank you.

If you simply want to format the HTML like google, then just loop through the results, and escape in and out of PHP, in a PHP document that looks like google.

P.S. That was a bad demonstration link to create, next time, just use something like www.example.com

sorry, i think u misunderstand my question.

let's me explain once again. my database consists of 4 fields,
1. pageID
2. pagename
3. content

then, i will let user to search a keyword inside the field 'content'.

keyword=introduction

then, i will display this to them:

result found:
1.'$pagename'
Description: partial content of '$keyword'
(ie. Description:...adjd ajsdj afj '$keyword' .......)

Ah...yes, I did misunderstand. OK, now I get what you are trying to do. This should work nicely:

$findkey = strpos($description, $keyword);
echo "..." . substr($description, $findkey - 100, $findkey) . " <b>" . $keyword . "</b> " . substr($description, $findkey + strlen($keyword), $findkey + strlen($keyword) + 100) . "...";
