PHP Books for starters

i am new to php. i was wondering if anybody can tell me how to start off, for instance, what books can i refer to? i have a little knowledge of asp, c and c++.

I started with PHP for the World Wide Web Visual Quickstart Guide by Larry Ullman. It is extremely straightforward, easy to read, and written in a coherent fashion. It's a great place to start.

From there, I moved on to the O'Reilly books on PHP and PHP/MySQL.
