Formating a MSSQL DATETIME Stamp

I have a MSSQL Field, marked as DATETIME, and I want just the date out it.. is there a function I may be able to use.....

I tried date(), but I don't think that's what I want, well it didn't work anyway.. gave me 12/31/1969 as the date.. 🙂

It actually displays as: Feb 7 2003 1:17PM if I just print it out, but I don't want the time..

Any help would be great!

check out date() on php.net. You can specify how you want it to format the timestamp.

If you take note of my previous post, I said I tried that:

date('M, d Y', $NewsList["news_date"])

Which outputs:

Dec, 31 1969

Which, as you can assume, is not what I want.. since, if you look in my pervious post, if I don't use Date(), it outputs that date/time.

I figured it out.. I had to use the strtotime()..

That didn't work earlier.. hrrrmm

Is the field in a timestamp format, or something like : 200303211358 ?
