HTML and Email

Hi, I've been working on this for hours.

I'm trying to send a confirmation email when a user addsa a record to a database. All is well with the database, but when the email arrives, all the HTML tags can be seen.

I have used this format for the headers:

$headers  = "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";
$headers .="From:[e-mail] \r\n";

At the top of the email body, there are the following ugly headers:

Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
From: [e-mail]
Message-Id: (edited)
Date: Sat, 22 Mar 2003 17:49:35 +0000
X-AntiAbuse: This header was added to track abuse, please include it with any abuse report
X-AntiAbuse: Primary Hostname - (edited)
X-AntiAbuse: Original Domain - (edited)
X-AntiAbuse: Originator/Caller UID/GID - [99 99] / [99 99]
X-AntiAbuse: Sender Address Domain - (edited)

Could it be a problem with my server? Or is it something wrong with my code?

the headers in your code seem to be correct.
read the user comments of possible problems, if any:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.mail.php

i don't know much about the X-AntiAbuse headers you are receiving.

another thing could be that your email client is set to recieve any email as plain text, so even if you get email in HTML format, it will also show you the code.

Well, this is strange.

I tried it again this morning and it works perfectly!

I guess it must have been a server fault.
