Sending Email

I am gettin this error when i try to send an email.

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [e-mail] in D:\ftf\fsubmit.php on line 20.

the code i wrote is

mail("[e-mail]", "the subject", "welcome test",
"From: \r\[e-mail]"
."Reply-To: [e-mail]\r\n");

do you have a mailserver installed? mail() just uses your
local mailserver to send mails (Linux' sendmail for example)

I installed the PHP Patch on IIS.

do i have to install APACHE Server or some other thing???

no, IIS is a webserver, Apache, too

what you need is a small prog/deamon which handles sending
and receiving mail, search with google for "sendmail" or sth. similar

yea i wrote the mail function but y doesn't it use the SMTP server or i need something else.????

If you can get to your php.ini file you'll need to put in the address of the smtp server in it

its under

[mail]

You'll also need to put in a valid email address in the sendmail_from part
