Attaching A Variable Help

Hi I need some advice

Is it possible to send a php variable in an html link. For example i want to create a navigation bar on my site with a list of different catagories in the form of text and html links.

Every link will go to the same page catagorie.php. The reason for the variable is so that when the php page collects it, it loads the page depending upon that option.

Anyone no how to do this or something like this?

url variables are $_GET variables:

document.php?foo=bar&this=that

would then be accessed using $GET['foo'] and $GET['this']
