Ok this might be a too indepth quetion but how do i pull images from a MySQL database?

this has already been discussed, but i don't remember in which post.

if you want to put an image in a DB, you have to store it in a BLOB type field.

and when retrieving vite, you have to prepare the header of your file so that it is recognized as a picture.

again, the best is to store the picture outside of the DB and store the path to this picture in the DB.

Yes thank u again. thats idealy wat i want to do but how do i put the path of the image in the database? as for me it just shows up as the path in text i would assume u have to give the database certain table properties. Or call it in php in some way.

if the path to your image is http://yoursite/images/pic01.jpg
and all your images are in /images
then store in your DB pic01.jpg

and when you want to display it,
you do that :<img src="./images/<? echo $row["pic"]; ?>">
that will show your image just the way you want.

the path of your image is stored in a varchar field.

I worked it out. the script i am working with is limited somewhat for wat i want to do. so i will have to modify it.
