is there any way to get the client's screen resulotion? I'd like to use different size images for my menus for different screen resolutions.

Yep, that's what you need. My suggestion would be to read those values in a "fake" index file that just grabs the res and passes them as get variables to the real index file, which in turn sets session variables with the values that you can use throughout your site.

and of course if you want to use the users actual browser size in case they don't use it maximized, you can use:

window.innerWidth

and

window.innerHeight
