2 MySql datbases, 1 problem

Okay, here is the problem at the core. I have 2 websites. Website (A) has its own db and news feed. Website (😎 also has its own db and news feed.

I need to take the news feeds from Website (A) and insert them into Website (😎 so that the news is constantly updated and a mirror of Website (A) . For example, if (A) makes a news post, the news is also seen on (😎.

I had a couple of ideas, but the simplest one i've come up with is to create a php file that turns the news table in site (A) into an XML feed. Then site (😎 looks at that xml file and updates its db accordingly.

Anyone able provide some technical know-how with php, mysql and xml to solve this problem?

The XML thing would work but may be over complicating the whole thing.

There are two main ways to do it. If you are in control of the admin of site A to add the news posts, simply modify the admin to remotely update the site B database.

Alternatively, you can write an include file of some form that transparently does a remote file open like

$handle = fopen ("http://www.example.com/", "r");

from site A and parses the resulting html file. If the news is in a table this wont be too hard. You would then simply insert the data into site B's database.
