This seems like it should be easy, but I can't figure out for the life of me.

I have a file index.php that has content and another, search_results.php, that displays search results from google.

In the index.php file, I used
includes 'http:www.website.com/search_results.php?keyword=whatever';
This works fine. On the index.php page, it displays search results for the word "whatever"

I have a variable, $keyword, in the index.php file that I would like to use perform the search at the same time. The problem I am having is to get the other file to accept the variable the way I want it too.

includes 'http:www.website.com/search_results.php?keyword="$keyword"';

Am I using the quotes the wrong way? Am I making sense with this question?

I think you might be meaning

include "http://www.website.com/search_results.php?keyword=$keyword";

Safer:

include "http://www.website.com/search_results.php?keyword=".urlencode($keyword);

Perfect! This is a pretty simple thing, but I haven't seen it in a beginning book.
