Cant install Linux

Hey - I am unable to install mandrake linux 9.0 (downlaoded the 3 isos). I had winXP and wanted a dual boot but when I went to install it said something about not being able to mount onto the second stage ramdisk.

I thaught it was because windows was on an NTFS partition so I reformatted it as fat32 and tryed to install linux (with windows not on the computer at all). Still the same error.

I have since reinstalled winXP pro and tried again but no luck 🙁

PLEASE HELP 🙂 what am i doing wrong?

if I recall correctly the mandrake second stage ramdisk is the installer being dropped into memory, I had a similar issue with Lycorice, Redhat et al, I found that by resetting my BIOS to defaults this cleared up whatever issue was causing the boot up to hang, give that a shot and let us know if it works for you.
