I'm trying to get my site on-line with no success!!

I can view it internally through localhost, but am having no luck in connecting it to the internet, I don't think iis is regognising my homepage, i get this message:

Your Web server lists the following files as possible default Web pages: default.htm,default.asp,index.htm,iisstart.asp. Currently, only iisstart.asp exists.

how do I get iis to regognise my index.php file as my homepage?

any help would be appreciated!!

in iis admin for your web directory one of the tabs is something like default files or something - it will list all those files that you've given above. Just click add and enter index.php, and i'd move it to the top of the list so it looks for it first. then click apply, and it should be added as a default document.

I've had a look for default file but have had no luck, I'm on an xp box, so that might have something to do with it,

Is it connected to default web site? as that looks like it lists the contects of my wwwroot directory.

index.php is there but is still not being opened, could you be more specific about where I could find this default files tab?

there really arent that many tabs to go through - just right click on the default web site in iis, and go to properties - if i remember right there are two rows of tabs, and one of them will have a list of about 5 files with a pair of arrows on the right to move them up or down. somewhere in there there is an add button, and you just want to add index.php. as i say i think it's default web pages or something, but it's certainly not really hidden, and it shouldnt take a detective to find it.

found it now, thanks. The thing is now that I've done that the error message still hasn't gone away. when I return to the default web-sites properties index.php is listed as the default but when I start up iis the same message is there, it still doesn't look like its recognising it!

do you think it could be anything else?

Do you have PHP installed on your box? (just in case)

If you try going directly to your page, does it come up? (i.e. [url]http://your_ip/index.php[/url])?

Have you moved your document root folder, or changed it? If so, are the proper security settings in effect?
