using ms access wtih php?

i keep getting this message when i try to run a php page with ms access as database:

Database error: Link-ID == false, odbc_pconnect failed
ODBC Error: 0 ()
Session halted.

....can anyone help me with this??

looks to me like it cant find the database that you're telling it to - i'd check your paths and that malarkey.

Suku, basically I've spent the last two weeks learning php for use with access via odbc (and then I was told that actually it's all in Excel.

So basically if you expand on the problem I'll be happy to share my wasted time with you.

the thing is there is no ms access in my system. i gotta connect to it thru the network. and i've created a odbc in my system for access. and i use this dsn to connect to the database.

where do i mention the actual mdb file that is to be used??

i work with php using code charge studio.

.....but u know wat, i've shifted to sql now. i mean i've exported the db to ms sql. but id be happy if someone told me where i went wrong🙂

For some of the bits I've just created a DSN-less connection and just refer to the file in that

$db_connstr = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=C:\\Databases\\mappy.mdb";

$dbh = odbc_connect($db_connstr, "", "");

I'm not sure how you'd refer to it over a network cos I'm just doing it on my computer. You probably just plop the computer name in there somewhere, but I'm just guessing.
