MySQL Select Unique Data?

Say i have a table with 2 colums

1 name
2 type

How would i form a query that would return all the different types:

Ie If the table has this data

Name | Type

Jack E
Joe R
Moe X
Fred R
Lee E
James X

When i did my query it would return

E
R
X

Just the type but only the different types that exist?

Answer my own question 😉

select Type from <TABLE> group by type;

You can also use DISTINCT like this

SELECT DISTINCT Type FROM Table

One caveat is that DISTINCT can hide results from poorly-written queries, so use with caution.
