JPgraph- problem with characters!

I am using the JPgraph and I live in mexico so I need to use characters like "á" and "ñ", in html would be "á"

In the database those charactertes are stored and displayed perfectly but when I try to graph them they are not displayed correctly.
and if i try to use the "á" the word "á" appears instead of the character.

I dont know if its fault of the font I am using (its the default one because I am not specifing wich one I want to use)

I would really appreciete If someone could help me.
