[MySQL] Recover given Auto Increment value

Hi folks,

just a short question about mysql :

I'v got a mysql table with one field like this :

ID INTEGER AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY

so when i ad some data to this table the field ID ll get an auto incremented value.

Now i need to know which value was given to this field after the insert statement.

Is there an easy way with php to get this given ID ?

Thanks in advance !

(Note : I have allready thought about a select right after the insert, but i don't think this way ll be safe when much queries go to the database ...)

Got the solution with the
mysql_insert_id() function.
