*nix, unless I'm forced to Windows then 2000 because I don't like the toon version of Windows(XP). Most of our production stuff runs on FreeBSD and Linux.

well I'm using a windows box, but thats because I've been too damn lazy to figure out why my debian install doesn't have my sound card drivers....

as far as suggesting what you should use, it really depends on what you prefer using...
