I have a PHP script that amongst other things show images (JPEG) of employees of a company. I have made other applications with similar functionality that has worked well with any browser. However - this application has a particular problem with Internet Explorer 5.0-6.0 (haven't tried earlier versions) - however it works fine with Netscape 4.8 and 7.03 and Opera 7!
What happens is this: after having viewed a few employees suddenly Internet Explorer won't show any more images - no matter what I do - it just loads and loads - and this then lasts for the entire session - and on ANY page on the Internet! Meaning - if I go to CNN.com for instance, I won't see any JPEG images! Things don't go back to normal until I have closed all browser windows used in this session!
I have printed out the $_SERVER variables - and what I have noticed is that as soon as the images won't show, the HTTP_ACCEPT variable changes from:
[HTTP_ACCEPT] => image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, /
to just:
[HTTP_ACCEPT] => /
when I refresh the page where an image is placed!
Anyone have a clue ? As mentioned, this "bug" is only present in Internet Explorer - but not in Netscape or Opera - so this doesn't seem to be a problem with the script.
Any help is appreciated.
