Hiya, im new all this php lark, got myself a nice book, trying to set everything up... Lots of writing here i know, but im sure its painfully simple for you lot....
I downloaded EasyPHP which gave me an apache server. i Added the line:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
...to the httpd.conf file so that it would recognise files with extension .php and parse them. Now, i understand that im supposed to place my php files in the www folder, which for me is located at:
c:/program files/easyphp/www/
So i put my php files in there, and direct my browser to a location such as:
c:/program files/easyphp/www/test.php
But when i do this, it gives me the alert box saying "do you want to save or open this file...etc...."
This isnt right im sure, and furthermore, when I click "open" it tries to open it as a Microsoft Home Publishing file! I dont even know what that is. COuld it be that my system just thinks PHP files should be opened with this Publishing program or what? If so, how can i change this?
Sorry for being such a divvy...
Thanks in advance
Rich
